My 2023 YouTube Earnings

I’m taking a different tact this week.
I’m going to let you peek behind the curtains of my YouTube business. I’ll share my earnings, my goals and how I plan on achieving them.
I’m attempting to build a meaningful business from scratch, whilst I juggle two other businesses. I think there’s a lot to be learned from me showing you my wins, failures and lessons.

I’ve been working on building this brand for around 18 months now. It costs me approximately £2,500 a month to operate. This could be streamlined but I don’t want to reduce the quality of what I offer right now.
So far, it’s earned me… very little!
Here are my 2023 earnings from 1st Jan – 31st May 2023:
$307 in 5 months.
My publishing video was launched in May. It cost me £200 to edit. When you factor in the running cost of my social media manager, assistant, website, email marketing provider etc. it’s clear to see this isn’t a profitable business…
YET.

One of my O.G. videos took off on YouTube 🚀. When you’re reading this, it’s likely to have around 250,000 views. (Great numbers for me!)
Here are my earnings over the past 6 weeks, 1st Jun – 12th Jul 2023:
$307 for 5 months to $3,223 for 6 weeks. The Milky Bars are on me!
I can just about cover my costs this month, but I’m not in a profitable position overall for the year.
I feel genuine excitement for where the channel is heading. I think I’m close to breaking out and being able to do this thing full time:
- My followers are growing across each platform every day (apart from Instagram). 🙏
- I’m receiving more messages and emails from you guys and gals. ✉
- I’m getting more requests for coaching/mentoring. 🧡
- More companies are reaching out for sponsorships. (They’re all 💩)
- YouTube subs, views and ad revenue are all heading in the right direction. 📈
It brings me back to 2015, when I was trying to make my publishing business work. It’s hard to begin with. You put in so much time and effort, and get very little back. But then, just as you feel like giving up… something takes off and gives you hope.
These are very exciting times, although it doesn’t always feel like it at the time. 18 months of trudging away. Questioning what the hell I’m doing. Recieving hate on a regualr basis. Being too busy to write scripts and record videos, and I can FINALLY see light at the end of the tunnel.
I’m not there yet but I see the light. 👀
If you just keep moving forward and don’t give up, success is inevitable.
My 3 YouTube Goals
- ENJOYMENT – Have fun doing it
- EARNINGS – Earn over £1,000,000 /year
- IMPACT – Help over 1,000,000 become financially free
These goals come as a package. I don’t want to dwell on any one area. I want all of them.
I believe I can make this brand highly profitable, highly impactful and have a lot of fun doing it. If any one of those is not happening, I will look to identify the bottleneck and release the constraint.
Enjoyment – The enjoyment factor is still quite strong, so that’s not an issue. To be honest, it’s what’s kept me going. That’s why I believe in doing things you’re good at or passionate about. Despite what the trolls say, I think I could be very good at this, I love helping people and the content is fun to create.
I need to make sure this remains fun. If it does, I’ll do it for years and the earnings and impact will follow.
Earnings – My earnings are steadily growing but they fluctuate wildly. I believe that by the end of 2023, I’ll finally have a profitable business. I also believe that if I focus on providing value and helping FIRST, the money will take care of itself.
I love business and I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m excited to see what I’m capable of earning with my brand. I know that my earnings will be determined by the level of value I provide, NOT by chasing the money.
Impact – My impact is steadily increasing, but it’s the weakest area. I’ve not helped enough people (lack volume) or significantly enough (lack influence) to meet my aims. I know that I need to create more YouTube videos to grow my following, and offer more solutions (products/services/tools) to help people fix thier money problems. Here lies the constraint.
I want to be able to stand behind the statement:
“I helped 1,000,000 become financially free“
Currently, I can count that number on one hand.

Online Courses, Online Community, a Mastermind, Podcast, etc.
Write down what comes to mind.
