Can YOU Earn £1,000,000 a Year?

Can YOU Earn £1,000,000 a Year?

Every Sunday I send out something to think about, a question to ponder and something to try to make your life a little more pleasant. The idea is to inspire and encourage positive change. Readers share their progress so we can all benefit from the learnings.

THINK

“If you fight for your limitations you get to keep them.”

Jim Kwik

I love this quote.

I was reminded of it recently when I sent out a couple of posts on Instagram. Each post gave an example of someone earning £100,000/year or £1,000,000/year and living on 10-20% of their wage.

I was inundated with negativity…

  • “It’s totally unrealistic and a slap in the face to everyone”
“Unfollowed. This is the most out of touch advice I’ve seen in a while.”
  • “Hard to save 90% of my income when the government takes 40% of it
  • “This post is completely out of touch with your average person, even one’s who are already trying to achieve retirement as fast as possible.”
  • “This is in poor taste in the middle of an economic crisis.”
  • “Congrats that’s the stupidest thing I’ve read today”
  • “Dude, I don’t know you but I wish you would go on a submarine dive and get lost. I don’t think you know how life actually works.”
  • “Delete this utter garbage post.”
  • “These examples are just not achievable. Not realistic figures for a normal working family.”
  • “Since we’re just making things up, how about I make 500k a year, spend 100k and ride to work on a unicorn.”
  • “I don’t follow this…how is “anyone” capable of earning 1m?”
  • “Please tell me how and where we can all earn 100k”

… I could go on (sadly!)

When I read them, my heart sank. 💔

As you can see, some were rude, some were outraged, but all of them held limiting beliefs over what they were capable of.

If you’re one of them, ask yourself.

What are you fighting for?

Remember the quote at the top of the page – If you fight for your limitations you get to keep them.

If you’re suffering financially, stop fighting to stay there. Beyond the realm of physics, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

We’re not talking probability, we’re talking capability.

If you won’t allow yourself to even believe it’s possible, you’ll never try, and you’ll never get there. You have to address this first.

You don’t need 100% conviction that you’ll attain it. You just need to be open to the possibility that it can happen, and you can build on it from there.

Jon Morrow

Leon Hendrix is a phenomenal YouTuber. I aspire to be as good as he is one day. He shared the wonderfully inspiring story of Jon Morrow.

Leon’s intro – Jon can only move his face and he made $10,000,000 in order to survive because he had millions of dollars in medical bills. The government didn’t allow him to make more than 800 a month because if he did he would lose all the medical care they provided so he figured out a genius plan networked with big entrepreneurs rose to the top of his industry and overcame a level of adversity where most people would have accepted death.

Sam Burns

I tear up each time I watch this video. Sam did a presentation for TEDx called “My philosophy for a happy life”.

Sam was diagnosed with Progeria, a rare, rapid-ageing disease, at the age of 2. He had to face the aesthetic and physical characteristics, the health challenges and accept that most people don’t live past their teenage years.

Sam’s Philosophy for a Happy Life is threefold:

1) Be OK with what you ultimately can’t do, because there is so much you CAN do.

2) Surround yourself with people you want to be around.

3) Keep moving forward.

I strongly recommend checking out the presentation. It never fails to inspire and lift my spirits.

Would you trade your position with either Jon or Sam?

There is no prize to being the biggest victim and feeling sorry for yourself.

There’s ALWAYS someone out there who’s been in a worse situation than you, that’s risen up against the odds and achieved something remarkable.

Why can’t that be you?

Why can’t you make a million a year?

Give yourself permission to believe it’s a possibility. Open the door.

As Sam teaches us, be OK with what you can’t do because there’s so much you can do.

Surround yourself with people who support your vision, and critically, keep moving forward.

Reflect and share this with someone.

ASK

“Would you trade your position with either Jon or Sam?”

“If they can achieve their dreams, why can’t you?”

“Are you fighting for your dreams or limitations?”

REMEMBER: You get to keep what you focus on.

Write down what comes to mind.
