The Lesson (Asymmetric Returns)

ALWAYS be on the lookout for opportunities to make money that are fun, effortless, and fast and that have no or very little downside.

This is known as Asymmetric Returns. (Big upside, low downside)

There is a possibility that some of you could make nothing or even lose money in extreme circumstances.

To put it in perspective, I’ve been doing this for about 5-6 years, and I’ve never lost money.

That doesn’t mean it isn’t possible.

But take the lesson…

These opportunities come up roughly once a month.
Even IF you were to lose money once…
DON’T be put off from trying again because the odds are in your favour.

Question

If I offered you a deal where I tossed a coin and you won £10 if it landed on Heads, but you had to pay me £5 if it landed on Tails, would you take the deal? 🤔

Answer

Take the damn deal EVERY SINGLE TIME.

The potential downside (-£5) is 50% of the potential upside (+£10), but the odds of each outcome are equal.

In fact, if you were lucky enough to find a deal like this, you’d place the bet AS MANY TIMES AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE.

There is a possibility that you could be “unlucky” and lose the first 10 rounds (-£50), but due to the Law of Averages, over time, you’d end up on top.

And remember, for every “unlucky” person, there’s a “lucky” person, who’d win 10 times in a row (+£100).

The people who lose are those who play the game once and give in.

When the odds are in your favour, take them and accept the outcome, knowing you made the right call.
